I am writing to let you know that the NCSE Parent Notify Process for the 2027/28 school year is now open.
Parents notify is for parents and guardians who are looking for a new special class or special school placement for their child for Sept. 2027.
While attending their local school is the preferred option for many children and families, we recognise that some children have more complex needs and may require a specialist educational placement such as a special class in a mainstream school or a special school.
Important Dates
As outlined in Department of Education and Youth Circular 0063/2026, parents are encouraged to notify the NCSE by 1st September 2026.
Where parents/guardians are awaiting documentation or reports they should not delay contacting the NCSE via the Parents Notify portal by 1st September 2026. As above, documentation can be supplied as soon as practicable after initial notification has been made to the NCSE.
