Sport

Scoil Phroinsiais Naofa has always placed a great emphasis on sport in our school.

We play in Offaly Cumann na mBunscol hurling and football competitions. In 2020,  our dedication to GAA sports was rewarded when we were awarded the overall Runner Up in the the All Ireland Cumann na mBunscol school of the year competition.  We are very thankful to our local GAA club who organise a schools GAA coach for our school during the year.

We also take part the in FAI primary school five a side competition and also the mini rugby competitions.

We also regularly have athletics coaching taking place in our school throughout the year.

Our most famous sportsman is of course our former student and current professional golfer, Shane Lowry.  Another famous student on the sporting front is All Ireland referee Brian Gavin who refereed four All Ireland hurling finals.
