Fr Patrick Keary R.I.P.

There was great sadness and regret in our school community on Sunday morning when the news of Fr. Keary’s death was announced.

He had been the Chairperson of the Board of Management of Scoil Phroinsiais Naofa for many years until his retirement in 2019. We got to know him very well during those years and he frequently visited the school and participated in various school functions. The Sacrament classes, 2nd and 6th class, got to know him and he enjoyed interacting with them.

One of the highlights of the school year was the celebration of St. Francis’ Feast Day on October 4th, Fr. Keary always made it a memorable occasion for the pupils and staff. He was kind and thoughtful and gentle in his approach to all.

As Chairperson of the Board of Management, he was supportive of all school initiatives.

He had a great interest in school development and various school curricular being implemented. Though quietly spoken, he was always focused and his priority was always the wellbeing of pupils and staff.

Our school community wish to extend their condolences to Fr. Keary’s family, the Bishop of Meath – Bishop Tom Deenihan, the priests of the Meath Diocese and the parishioners of Clara.

Guímid solas na bhflaithis ar a anam dílis, uasal agus leaba i measc na naomh uilig dó.
